A Statement from Nardevi Pun Magar
Group of young girl all the way from Nawalpur District- Devchuli municipality came to Pokhara in order to express their concerns and problems to the provincial social development minister Nardevi Pun Magar. While meeting the minister at social development department the young girls made the list of points regarding their problems like: child marriage, sexual harassment, gender discrimination, Drug abuse, Identity problem, suicidal cases etc.
During the interaction program the Hon. Pun assured that the concerned department has been working actively to address the issues of girls. She further informed that the existing constitution guarantees continuous and active participation of women in it. This act perhaps created a history. She shared her struggle while initiating in the politics. She further expressed that the government has been making the roads and it’s the responsibility of youths mainly girls to walk through it
She talked that a female has to face different problems by her family, society and the community as a whole compared to the male while involving in developing herself. Similarly, she strongly opined that within this Fiscal year every province will ensure child law in order to provide continuous support to them.
