Strategic Direction for Programme

Ever since its foundation, Jcycn: Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal has been actively engaged in advocacy and campaign for the right of children and youth. It has been upholding the issue concerning them such as child-friendly local governance, youth employment, participation,and safer migration, naming of a few.

Jcycn had laid the foundation of the culture of having child clubs registered through the legal process in Nepal, therefore, it has observed almost 25,000 registered child clubs across the country as a consequence of its action in the past. Jcycn has gained substantial experiences on the grassroots level of work,national level of policy advocacy, and international level of solidarity.

SO1: Advocate for child well being and promote child friendly practices in the governance system

  1. The duty-bearers are responsive and accountable for child-friendly governance.
  2. Children realize basic human rights, right to development and peace.
  3. Children have better access to social protection and pursue positive coping mechanisms.

SO2: Enhance solidarity among youth and active population, promote dignified migration,and advocate to adopt the democratic practices in the local government.

  1. Empowered youth and the community practices democratic values to govern themselves.
  2. Skilled and well aware population promotes safer and dignified labour migration.
  3. National and international level of institutional solidarity strengthened.

SO3: Provide humanitarian assistant to the disaster affected people and organize constructive civic engagement in the community development.

  1. 1.Disaster affected communities have access to quality of relief services and are able to recover and rebuild their communities.
  2. People are aware and taking action to minimize harmful socio-cultural practices, gender-based violence, child abuse, unsafe migration, and trafficking.
  3. People and the community are able to conduct socio-economic interaction in anorganized and sustainable manner.
